Our Story
Jack's Barn is part of Bank farm, a family run farm owned by the Wanstall family for over 100 years, the barn derived its name from John Wanstall, the father and grandfather of the current members of the Wanstall family, farming the land today.
Jack's Barn has a unique history, built in the 14th century, used mainly throughout the years for agriculture. The barns main place in history, however, was secured when the Ransley gang of smugglers, notorious in the area, were caught and deported to Tasmania.
As the years have progressed, the barn became derelict in parts and not practical for modern-day machinery.
We decided in 2013 to lovingly restore Jack's Barn to its former glory; the barn now, we hope you will agree, is simply beautiful.
